Maria Guleghina - 25th Season at the MET

Maria Guleghina was celebrated at the MET due to her 25th season and was awared the original Crucifix from the 1985 Production by the great Franco Zeffirelli, a production she sang over 50 times at the MET.

Maria Guleghina sang a sensational "Vissi D'arte" on the 21st of July 2015 and was "forced" by the public to sing an encore after a never ending ovation! It was the first time during an opera performance at the Mariinsky Theatre that an artist sang an aria twice!
The artist was rewarded with a sea of flowers as well as an ovation that lasted over half an hour!
